2014 Malibu

2014 Chevrolet MalibuChevrolet’s Malibu was first introduced as a trim model for the Chevy Chevelle. It became its own model line in 1978. The Malibu, which was originally a rear-wheel drive car, became front-wheel drive in 1997. The new 2014 Chevrolet Malibu is almost here. This amazing new car will go on sale this fall. It boasts an updated front-end style that looks similar to that of the new redesigned 2014 Impala. The biggest attention grabber will be the new engine which will get an estimated 23 miles per gallon in the city and 35 miles per gallon on the highway. This is an improvement from previous years of 5 percent city and 3 percent highway.

Another thing they improved on was the back seat. It now has more space and room than ever. This was achieved by making the front seat backs slightly thinner which is becoming a common practice in the auto industry. Other enhancements include a redesigned center console, almost 14 percent more torque, suspension enhancements and the new Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert safety features.

The wheelbase is another big difference in the 2013 and 2014 years. The older models have 4 inches or so longer wheelbase. This shorter wheelbase has given the current models the tighter interior dimensions. Sales for this model vehicle have steadily increased since 2009. Hopefully, it will continue with this new addition. The base price point for the new 2014 Malibu is rumored to be around $22,805.
