The Cadillac CTS-V Coupe is one such, whiplash, double take machine. One thing I didn’t expect to find was a Cadillac CTS-V Coupe that too the luxury and performance that Cadillac is known for and actually ADDED more performance features.

As if the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe weren’t impressive enough in┬ástock form, the bodywork and tuning gurus at D3 have decided to throw a wide-body conversion at the car, put huge wheels and tires on it, and boost the power to 1,001-hp. That’s right…1,001-hp! The pictures in this post were taken at the 2011 SEMA Convention in Las Vegas.

Built not just for show, but for go, the be-winged wide-body CTS-V Coupe will compete in time attack events in 2012, its sinister matte black sure to instill justifiable fear in competitors.

The photos speak for themselves. Just note that if you thought the CTS-V Coupe had a chunky rear end before, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

Of course if your Cadillac tastes are more traditional, the Southtowne General Motors Superstore has a more appropriate CTS-V for more of the traditional Cadillac buyer. Come in and take a test drive…then think about what it would feel like with DOUBLE the horsepower!
