Buick is releasing a new crossover SUV, the 2016 Buick Envision. This model was created to compete with the Audi Q5, the Acura RDX and the Lincoln MKC. This model, designed and engineered in Michigan, won Motor Trend SUV of the Year in China. As of early December 2015, it’s already sold over 127,000 units, though not in the United States. The Envision will be released to North American dealerships in 2016, including SouthTowne Motors.

Top Features

The Envision will feature a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that puts out 252 horsepower and has Buick’s stop/start technology. This already-efficient engine is made more efficient by adding upper grille shutters to enhance aerodynamics and using a body structure that incorporates high-strength and ultra-high-strength steel that is extremely light.

Additional top features include LED daytime running light and rear accent lights, standard lane keeping assist and safety alert seat, an 8-inch color touch screen with IntelliLink, a programmable power lift gate, passive entry and remote start, heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, tri-zone climate control with separate controls for the rear, a Bose premium sound system and a panoramic moon roof.

Engine and Transmission

The cast aluminum engine features continuously variable valve timing, hydraulic roller finger follower lifters and a coil-on-plug ignition system. The engine makes 260 pound-feet of torque and is backed by the Hydra-Matic 6T70 electronically controlled six-speed automatic transmission with automatic overdrive.

Additional Features

The Envision features four-wheel ABS disc brakes, traction control, electronic stability control, a specifically tuned coil-spring front suspension with a direct-acting stabilizer bar and hydraulic ride bushings, a four-link independent rear suspension with a hollow stabilizer bar, electric rack and pinion power steering with road-shake stabilization and 19-inch aluminum wheels.
