Drive to the Hillside for the Stars

Moon Day celebrates the day that man first walked on the moon – July 20, 1969. John F. Kennedy began the Apollo Space Program; and the Apollo 11 carried Neil Armstrong, Edwin Aldrin, Jr., and Michael Collins to their historic moon walk.

Apollo 11 was launched on July 16, 1969 from Cape Kennedy Space Center. The lunar module Eagle landed on the moon at Tranquility Base on the 20th. When he landed, Neil Armstrong stated, “The Eagle has landed.” It was a few hours later that he was the first to step of the lunar module and take man’s first step on the moon.

Re-live this historic day by driving to the Hillside to watch the stars. Before you go – even though it might be a short trip for you – be sure you have your vehicle serviced at SouthTowne Motors.
