How the Silverado Stacks Up

5-16-2016

If you are in the market for a new truck and are torn between the Chevrolet Silverado and other models, stop by SouthTowne Motors of Newnan, Georgia to test drive the Silverado to help you with your comparison. The 1500 Crew Cab with the short box LTZ with the 5.3-liter V-8 EcoTec engine outshines the similar trim levels for the Ford, Ram and Toyota models. The Ford features the 5.0-liter engine; the Ram has the 5.7-liter engine and the Toyota also has a 5.7-liter engine.

The Silverado gets 16 mpg* in the city and 23 mpg* on the highway compared to 15/22 for the Ford, 15/22 for the Ram and 13/18 for the Toyota. It also tows more at 11,100 pounds. The Ram is the closest to towing capacity and it only tows up to 10,370 pounds.

Payload for the Silverado is 2,180 pounds while the closest is the Ford, with a 2,130-pound payload. When comparing warranties, all four trucks have a 5-year power train limited warranty, but only the Dodge gives you the same 100,000 miles that you get with the Silverado.

Plus, the Silverado is the only model that features available built-in WiFi and has a corner bumper step.
