Lovely Hand-Held Snacks

When you plan for a road trip, one of the things you bring with you, especially if you have children riding with you, is snacks. However, you need just the right snacks so that anything that gets dropped in your brand new car from SouthTowne Motors does not damage the interior. Things that are easy to vacuum up are great snacks as are some other hand-held treats for the trip.

Trail Mix

Trail mix is a great snack – and you can make your own. Just mix your favorite nuts, pretzels and dried fruit together with M&Ms and you have a snack that won’t make a huge mess, yet it’s the perfect snacking food to keep the hands busy.

Fresh Fruit

Pack fresh fruit – your favorite berries, bananas or pre-sliced apples. These fruits don’t hold a lot of juice so you shouldn’t have too many sticky fingers all over your new car. If you pack apples, you can also cut them into bite-sized pieces and add bite-sized pieces of cheese to the mix.

Fresh Vegetables

Pack a mix of fresh carrot and celery sticks. Add some cheese sticks to the mix and you have a perfect snack that isn’t going to make a sticky mess out of the vehicle – and it’s a healthy snack, too.

Cheese and Crackers

Pack baggies of cheese and crackers. You can slice the cheese before the trip. If you have summer sausage, add pre-sliced summer sausage to the mix. Pack the crackers in an airtight container so that you’re not breaking them into crumbs while you’re trying to get the next one out of the package.

While you can make sandwiches for lunch, they also make a great snack. Use meats like bologna, salami, ham, roast beef and pastrami with your favorite cheese. Stay away from things that can fall out of the sandwiches such as egg salad or tuna. Cut the sandwiches into quarters for the perfect snack.

Stop by SouthTowne Motors

If you don’t have a new car or your vehicle hasn’t been serviced yet, stop by SouthTowne Motors to have your vehicle serviced. Or, if you are considering purchasing or leasing a new vehicle this year, make it sooner rather than later so you can enjoy a brand new car on your road trip.
