Presidents Day Road Trip

When you have a long weekend such as President’s Day weekend, that’s a great time to take a road trip, especially if you just bought a new vehicle from SouthTowne Motors. Even if you can’t take the whole weekend but can take just a day, you can pick one of these places to visit – a shorter road trip.

Visit Georgia’s oldest city and its live oak trees covered in Spanish moss to take in the scenery and many of the historical spots. You’ll see how new construction and historical architecture come together, and how ironwork, cobblestone streets and fountains make it all come together. While in Savannah, be sure to visit the Old Town Trolley Tours, Back in the Day Bakery, take a ride on the Savannah Riverboat and learn about the haunting of the area via Carriage Tours of Savannah.

Tybee Island

After Savannah, head over to Tybee Island for some of Wiley’s Championship BBQ, take a charter at Sundial Charters and grab a bite to eat at AJ’s Dockside or The Crab Shack.

Riceboro and Darien

If you have time, head over to Riceboro and Darien. Climb to the top of the Tybee Island Light Station and the next morning stop by The Breakfast Club for some of the area’s best eggs. If you head south, you’ll hit Riceboro where you can check out some of the Guah-Geecheee culture at Geechee Kunda. Go kayaking with Altamaha Coastal Tours or visit the Fort King George Historic Site. Eat a great dinner at the Darien River House Restaurant and Wine Bar or Skipper’s Fish Camp, depending on whether you want upscale or casual.

Brunswick and Golden Isles

When you head out, go south to Brunswick for a Lady Jane Shrimpin’ Ecological tour, spend some time at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center or take a bike ride on bikes rented from Jekyll Island Bike Rentals. If you want some quiet time, visit Driftwood Beach. Be sure to stop by Latitude 31 Restaurant and “Rah” Bar for some oysters.

Stop by SouthTowne Motors

If you haven’t purchased a new vehicle in the last month or two from SouthTowne Motors, be sure to stop by to have your vehicle serviced before you head out on a road trip.
